Trumbull Citizen Alert - Emergency and Community Notification Program

The Town of Trumbull has implemented a state-of-the-art emergency notification system to alert citizens about emergencies and other important community news. The emergency and community notification system, operated in partnership with Everbridge, enables the Town of Trumbull to provide important community notifications and essential information quickly in a variety of situations, such as severe weather, fires, floods, unexpected road closures, or evacuation of buildings or neighborhoods.

How Trumbull Citizen Alert Works

The Trumbull Citizen Alert system is populated with data from the White Pages, Yellow Pages, and Citizen Opt-in accounts. The best way to manage how you receive alerts is to register a Citizen Opt-in Account. Individuals often prefer to receive a text message or email instead of a phone call.

When the Town of Trumbull issues community notification message or a message about a potential safety hazard or concern, the system will attempt to contact people through the listed phone numbers from the White Pages or Yellow Pages, or the customized contact preferences listed in the person's Citizen Opt-in account. 

It is important to "confirm" receipt of the alert when it is received. This will tell the system to stop contacting you using alternate contact methods.

Residents, businesses, and neighbors with listed telephone numbers have already been included in the system through the White Pages and Yellow Pages databases. Creating a Citizen Opt-in account is encouraged, and will allow you to receive alerts on your preferred contact method.

Assistance Registering

If assistance is required in registering for the Trumbull Citizen Alert system online, please call the Director of Information Technology at 203-452-5101 and leave a message, or send an email to the Director of Information Technology, with the following information:

  • Location: Home, Work, Etc.
