If you accessed the Tax Collector's page to pay past due real estate taxes or WPCA/sewer use charges to obtain a tax clearance for your building permit, please call the office at 203-452-5024 prior to making the payment to be sure the correct amount is paid and the correct form of payment is used. Please mention that a clearance for your building permit is needed.
In order to get a same day clearance, taxes owed must be paid in the office with cash or certified funds, or online by credit or debit card. If you pay by credit or debit card, you must call the tax collector's office for the release once you have made the payment. All e-check payments will have a 10 business day hold.
