College Prep

  • Going2college – this site helps students identify schools, financial aid resources, and explore career options.
  • Princeton Review – SAT and ACT prep site. Personal tutoring and private courses are available, but students may also explore free practice sessions in their area.
  • Kaptest - PSAT, SAT and ACT prep site. It does require students to create logins, but you can get access to free study guides and practice tests.
  • Magoosh - downloadable PDF practice test of the SAT and ACT. It comes with an answer sheet that you must use to then grade yourself, but can still be a useful resource to practice timing and types of questions you will be asked. 
  • FAFSA – Federal Student Aid. Any student interested in college must file a FAFSA form each year to qualify for financial aid and to continue receiving aid from previous years. 
  • Connecticut State Colleges & Community Colleges – lists all CT state and community colleges, with links to each college’s page and types of program available.
  • College Board– administers the SAT and ACT tests in the United States and offers college credits through their advanced placement (AP) programs. College Board is used to register for these tests and also offers students tools and services to prepare for college.
