Digital Library

The Trumbull Library System is proud to offer Trumbull library card holders access to a variety of digital content providers. Digital content includes books, audiobooks, comics, magazines, etc. that you can access on your phones, tablets, and laptops. You can stream these materials through your account when connected to the internet or can download them to your device for access when offline. There are no late fees associated with any digital content. 

Comics Plus

Comics Plus offers access to thousands of digital comics, graphic novels, and manga. 

All you need to login is your Trumbull library card number, located on the back of your library card. 

How does Comics Plus work?

  • Download the Comics Plus app: 
  • Or log into the collection online:
    • Adult library card holders access materials here
      • Adult cards can access the entire Comics Plus collection including adult, teen, and children's materials.
    • Teen (ages 12-17) library card holders access materials here
      • Teen cards can only access teen and children's materials.  
    • Child (ages 0-11) library card holders access materials here
      • Children's cards can only access children's materials. 
  • No holds or waitlists
  • Unlimited number of checkouts 
  • Checkouts are for 1 week. After 1 week the cover will go dark, or 'dormant', but will remain on your shelf. You can choose to checkout the item again or remove it from your shelf at your discretion. 'Dormant' items will remain on your shelf indefinitely until you renew or remove them.

Using Comics Plus 

Libby

Libby (formerly known as Overdrive) offers patrons access to audiobooks, ebooks, and magazines. In addition to phones, tablets, and laptops Libby users can also access their materials on most Kindle devices. 

All you need to login is to select your library (Trumbull Library) and enter your library card number. 

How does Libby work?

  • Download the Libby app:
  • Or log into the collection online
    • Note: all Libby users have access to all Libby content. Libby does not currently offer a kids' mode. 
  • Items check out similarly to a physical item - if another patron has it checked out you must request the item and wait for it to become available.
  • Limit of only 10 items per month and 10 holds per month.
  • Checkouts lengths:
    • 3 weeks for ebooks and audiobooks.
    • 1 week for magazines.
  • Items will be automatically removed from your account once due - downloaded content will no longer be accessible on your device.
    • If you wish to keep the item longer you may renew the item, but only if no one else has a hold on it.

Hoopla

Hoopla Digital offers patrons access to audiobooks, ebooks, comics, tv shows, movies, and music. 

To login to Hoopla you will first need to create an account with a username, password, and your library card number. Once you create an account you will only need your username and password for future logins.

How does Hoopla work?

  • Download the Hoopla app:
  • Or log into the collection online
    • Note: all Hoopla users have access to all Hoopla content. Parents must manually activate Hoopla's kids mode to limit their child's access.
  • No holds or waitlists.
  • Limit of only 10 items per month.
  • Checkout lengths: 
    • 3 weeks for ebooks, audiobooks, and comics.
    • 1 week for music.
    • 3 days for movies and tv episodes.
  • Items will be automatically removed from your account once due - downloaded content will no longer be accessible on your device.
    • If you wish to keep the item longer, simply check the item out again and Hoopla will save your place.
