Plastic Film Collection

Plastic bags and film are NOT recycled in curbside, single stream recycling as they tangle the sorting machines. Stretchy plastic film, such as produce bags, dry cleaning bags, the wrap around paper towels and diapers, and more, can be recycled via specific plastic film recycling collection programs. along with plastic bags. Give your plastic film a second life through recycling.

Items should be clean, dry, and free of food or liquid.

Plastic Film Collection containers can be found at Stop & Shop or any participating retailer. Visit https://plasticfilmrecycling.org/ for a full list of accepted items, drop off locations, and more information.

Additionally, plastic film is collected at Monthly Recycling Drive. https://www.trumbull-ct.gov/1226/Beyond-the-Bin.

Plastic bags and film are recyclable at participating collections if they are stretchy (not crinkly), have a #2 or #4 on the recycling logo, or contain the recycling logo shown in the sidebar image here.
