Elizabeth Cellini Smith, age 63, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 17, 2010, in her home with her loving family by her side.  Born in Bridgeport on December 7, 1946, she was the daughter of Virginia Capasso Cellini of Trumbull and the late Daniel Cellini.  Elizabeth was an active member of the community.  She volunteered for the PTA at Middlebrook School for many years, was clerk of the Town Council for a number of years, and was also an Administrative Assistant to the Town of Trumbull First Selectmen David Wilson and then Raymond Baldwin for a total of 18 years.  In addition to her mother, she also leaves behind her best friend and husband of 41 years, Brian Smith, 2 loving and devoted children, a son, Daniel and his fiancé Libby Bowen and a daughter Maura Smith Palermo and her husband Jeff Palermo; as well as her two grandchildren, James and Rebecca Palermo, whom she doted on and who delighted her.  She will also be missed by her most loved sister and confidant, Mary Markham of Trumbull as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.  For more information or to light a virtual candle, go to www.abriola.com.
A Message from our First Selectman, Timothy Herbst
“On behalf of the citizens of the Town of Trumbull, I would like to express my sincere condolences on the passing of Liz Smith.  Liz served the Town of Trumbull for many years, most notably as a faithful and dedicated aide to 2 Trumbull First Selectmen.  Liz’s work ethic and devotion to the Town will be hard to replicate.  Trumbull has lost a committed advocate and person of great personal integrity.  My family joins me in extending our sympathy to Liz’s husband, Brian, her Mother, her children and grandchildren, as well as her sister Mary Markham, Trumbull’s Director of Recreation. Her untimely passing represents a very sad day for our Town and her family is in our thoughts and prayers.”
