[ARCHIVED] 12/26/2010 - Due to BLIZZARD: First Selectman declares State of Emergency

       

First Selectman Tim Herbst sent an emergency notification to all Trumbull residents Sunday morning via the CT Alert system.

In light of the pending blizzard, First Selectman Herbst has declared a state of emergency for the Town of Trumbull.

Effective immediately, there is a parking ban for all streets in Trumbull.  Please remove your vehicles from the street.

The Emergency Operations Center will open at 8:00 PM Sunday evening and will remain open until the emergency is over.

The forecast is for significant snow accumulation and high winds. This could result in loss of power. Please report power losses to the United Illuminating company.  To report a power outage, please call UI's Automated Action Line at 1-800-7CALLUI or 203-499-3333. UI's automated outage reporting system will record and report your outage. UI will restore your power as quickly as possible. 

   

UNDER ANY CONDITIONS
 STAY AWAY FROM DOWNED OR DANGLING POWER LINES
 TREAT ALL DOWNED LINES AS IF THEY ARE LIVE AND DANGEROUS

   

Please call 9-1-1 in the event of down power lines or other emergencies.

The forecast is for the storm to last until Monday evening. Please remain in your home if possible.

Trumbull's Police, Fire and Public Works departments are working diligently to address this storm.  We ask for your patience and cooperation.
