TRUMBULL WELCOMES NEW TOWN PLANNER
The Town of Trumbull is pleased to announce the addition of a new Land Use Planner, Rob Librandi. Mr. Librandi most recently served as Acting Director of Planning & Development for the City of West Haven, where he led the land use team and staffed six land use boards covering zoning, wetlands, conservation and economic development. He also gained experience in the towns of Cheshire and Southington. Mr. Librandi is adept at guiding citizens and investors through the permitting process for development projects of every size. He also specializes in site plan review, staff reporting, small area plans, and transit-oriented development planning. Mr. Librandi will be the staff advisor to the Trumbull Planning & Zoning Commission, and will work closely with Director of Economic & Community Development Jamie Brätt, who previously served as Trumbull’s planner for three years before being promoted this past spring.
“The role of the Planning and Zoning Department in guiding a responsible land use plan is very important to not only myself but also to First Selectman Herbst. We were determined to conduct an exhaustive search for a candidate who had both the technical skills and the people skills to complement our stellar development services teams,” said Jamie Brätt. “Rob is a skilled planner: he is ethical, he is objective, he believes in long-term planning and thorough plan review with public participation, and he believes in the merits of smart-growth in the suburban context,” added First Selectman Timothy Herbst.
A native of Seymour, Mr. Librandi earned his undergraduate degree from Central Connecticut State University in Geographic Studies and Technology. He also participated in graduate coursework in Urban Planning at Southern Connecticut State University, and completed his certification with the Connecticut Association of Zoning Enforcement Officers (CAZEO) in 2011. Mr. Librandi resides in Stratford with his wife and young child. “Trumbull has such an excellent reputation for residential quality of life and context-sensitive commercial growth,” he said, “I am honored to have been selected and am eager to serve the Town and its land use boards.” Mr. Librandi will begin as Land Use Planner for the Town of Trumbull on Monday, November 23. He can be reached at 203-452-5047 or rlibrandi@trumbull-ct.gov.
