Several laws pertaining to voting in Connecticut have changed with this election.
Voter registration deadlines have changed. The last day for in person, mail-in and on-line voter registration is Tuesday, November 1 for the November 8, 2016 election. All mail-in voter registration applications must be received or post-marked by November 1 in order to be accepted for the November 8, 2016 election. The office of the Registrar of Voters is open from now until Election Day from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
The office of the Trumbull Registrar and Town Clerk will be open on Sunday, October 16 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM for voter registration and absentee ballots and again on Saturday, October 22 from 10:00 – 1:00.
Residents can also register to vote on-line at https://voterregistration.ct.gov/OLVR/welcome.do
There is a special registration session on November 7, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for those who have turned 18 or have become citizens after November 1.
There will also be Election Day Registration available on November 8, from 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM for anyone who has not registered by November 1. However, there may be long wait times and you are urged to register to voter prior to the November 1 cut-off in order to save time on election day.
