Trumbull Little League 10U All Stars scored seven runs in the third inning, which helped them defeat Colchester, Vermont 10-0 on Wednesday.
Luke Locasto lead off the 3rd inning with a walk. Trumbull then bunted four consecutive batters in a row putting pressure on the Colchester defense. Chandler Penalba bunted for a single and advanced all the way to third (Locasto scored on the play) on a throwing error. Luke Carusone followed with a bunt single scoring Penalba. Jack Gerbert sacrifice bunted Carusone to second which was followed by a Beckett Urda bunt single putting runners on the corners. Bryce Buswell followed by reaching on a error by the third baseman which scored Carusone and advanced Urda up one base. Sonny Nankervis followed that with a single to score Urda. Buswell would come around to score after advancing on a pass ball and scoring when Chase Dolyak reached on an error.
Trumbull scored 3 runs in the 5th inning to beat push the score to 10-0. Jack Gerbert singled on a bunt, Bryce Buswell walked, and Sonny Nankervis singled scoring Gerbert. Blaise DiMartino then stepped up and roped a two run double scoring Buswell and Nankervis.
Chase Dolyak earned the win for Trumbull on the mound. The righty allowed one hit and zero runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking two. Maddox Kopchik tossed one inning of zero-run ball for Trumbull in relief. The right-handed pitcher gave up zero hits, striking out one and walking one. Blaise DiMartino came in relief of Kopchik to record the final out in the top of the 5th inning. The three Trumbull pitchers combined to throw a one hitter.
Trumbull accumulated 10 hits in the game. Blaise DiMartino provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Trumbull with two runs batted in. Sonny Nankervis went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Trumbull lineup. Beckett Urda, Connor Anderson, Luke Locasto, Chandler Penalba, Luke Carusone, and Jack Gerbert all chipped in with hits.
Trumbull will take their 3-0 record into their final pool play game on Thursday against Mt. Monadnock, New Hampshire 10U All Stars in their next game.

Trumbull 10U All Stars Defeats Mt Monadnock, New Hampshire In Pitcher's Duel to advance to the New England Regional Championship game tomorrow.
Both teams were strong on the mound on Thursday, but Trumbull 10U All Stars defeated Mt. Monadnock, New Hampshire 3-1. Bryce Buswell started the game for Trumbull and recorded the first 14 outs before handing the ball over to Blaise DiMartino for a 4 out save. DiMartino entered the game with runners on first and third with two outs in the 5th inning. DiMartino got a second pitch pop out to Sonny Nankervis to close the frame.
Trumbull 10U All Stars were the first to get on the board in the first. Beckett Urda walked to start the game and Bryce Buswell followed with a double down the left field line putting runners on second and third. Urda would score on a pass ball giving Trumbull a 1-0 lead and Buswell would score on a Blaise DiMartino sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 2-0 after 1 inning.
Bryce Buswell was the winning pitcher as he allowed three hits and one run over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking three. Blaise DiMartino pitched one and one-third innings of no-run ball for Trumbull and collected the save. DiMartino surrendered zero hits, striking out two and walking one. Porter Krook pitched a great game for Mt. Monadnock, New Hampshire. The right-handed pitcher allowed only two hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking three.
Bryce Buswell (double and run scored) and Connor Anderson (single and rbi) each collected hits for Trumbull. Blaise DiMartino added a sacrifice fly for an rbi.
Trumbull 10U All Stars has advanced to the 10U Little League New England Regional Championship game today at 3:30pm against North Providence, Rhode Island.

Huge Second Inning Leads Trumbull 10U All Stars Past Braintree American in the Little League 10U New England Regional opening pool play game!
Trumbull scored seven runs in the second inning, which helped them defeat Braintree American 12-2 on Sunday.
Maddox Kopchik singled to start the second inning. After a pop out, Dustin Galemba singled on a line drive to centerfield, advancing Kopchik to third. Trumbull then pulled off a double steal to go up 1-0. This was followed by three straight walks by Chandler Penalba, Luke Carusone, and Jack Gerbert, with Galemba scoring on a passed ball in the middle of those at-bats, making it 2-0. Beckett Urda then stepped to the plate, laying down a perfect bunt single, which was thrown down the right field by the pitcher. Bryce Buswell then stepped to the plate with Trumbull up 4-0 and calmly ripped a two-run double down the line, giving Trumbull a 6-0 lead. Trumbull concluded their scoring with Sonny Nankervis stepping to the plate and blasting a double up the gap, scoring Buswell and giving Trumbull a 7-0 lead.
Trumbull tacked on five more runs in the bottom of the third inning to extend their lead. Chase Dolyak and Maddox Kopchik both walked and advanced one base on a passed ball. Both runners would soon score on a two-out double down the line by Luke Locasto. Chandler Penalba then followed with a single to left-center field, scoring Locasto and giving Trumbull a 10-2 lead. Luke Carusone walked and then stole second. Jack Gerbert’s single scored Penalba for the 11th run, and Carusone scored the 12th run on a passed ball.
Sonny Nankervis earned the win for Trumbull on the mound. Sonny gave up one hit and two runs over four innings, striking out two and walking one.
Leadoff hitter Beckett Urda led Trumbull with two hits. Bryce Buswell and Luke Locasto each had doubles which drove in two runs each. Sonny Nankervis also doubled, chipping in with an RBI. Maddox Kopchik, Dustin Galemba, Chandler Penalba, and Jack Gerbert all added hits for Trumbull.

Trumbull 10U All Stars won big over North Providence All Stars 17-4 on Monday to improve to 2-0 in pool play.
Trumbull 10U jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Bryce Buswell doubled with one out and Sonny Nankervis singled putting runners on the corners. Blaise DiMartino stepped to the plate and blasted a triple scoring both runners. DiMartino then came around and scored on an error giving Trumbull a 3-0 lead after a half inning.
Trumbull added one run in the second after North Providence All Stars 10U committed an error making the score 4-1.
Trumbull 10U added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Maddox Kopchik drew a walk, scoring one run, Connor Anderson singled, scoring two runs, and Luke Locasto drew a walk, scoring one run.
Trumbull kept the foot on the gas scoring five runs on five hits in the top of the fourth inning. Luke Carusone, Beckett Urda, Bryce Buswell, Sonny Nankervis, and Connor Anderson all collected hits helping Trumbull build a 13-1 lead.
After North Providence scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 4th to make the game 13-4, Trumbull added four more runs in the top of the 5th inning.
Luke Carusone earned the win for Trumbull on the mound. He surrendered four hits and four runs over four innings, striking out three and walking three. Chase Dolyak threw one inning of shutout ball for Trumbull in relief. The right-handed pitcher allowed zero hits, striking out one and walking one.
Trumbull All Stars amassed 15 hits in the game. Bryce Buswell and Sonny Nankervis were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Trumbull while hitting back-to-back in the lineup. Blaise DiMartino provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Trumbull with two hits and three runs batted in. Connor Anderson and Luke Carusone each collected two hits for Trumbull. Beckett Urda, Chandler Penalba, and Jack Gerbert all collected big hits as well.

Trumbull Little League 10U All Stars defeated South Windsor 6-3 to win the Connecticut Little League State Championship this afternoon in Simsbury!
Trumbull opened up the scoring in the bottom of the first inning when Bryce Buswell walked, advanced to second on a pass ball, and scored on a Sonny Nankervis single to give Trumbull a quick 1-0 lead.
South Windsor came right back in the top of the second and manufactured a run to knot the score at 1-1.
Trumbull took control of the game for good in the bottom of the third inning. Jack Gerbert lead the inning off with a single. Beckett Urda and Bryce Buswell both immediately followed with back to back base hits to load the bases for Blaise DiMartino. Blaise launched a three run double to the left center wall giving Trumbull a 4-1 lead. Chase Dolyak immediately followed with a base hit to right field to extend the lead to 5-1.
Sonny Nankervis started the game for Trumbull and calmly fired a dominant complete game performance to lead Trumbull to victory. Aside from a few infield singles and a couple of errors, South Windsor mustered very little off him. Sonny surrendered only four hits and three runs over six innings, striking out two and walking two.
Bryce Buswell lead the offensive attack with two hits, a walk, two runs scored. Beckett Urda, Sonny Nankervis, Chase Dolyak, Chandler Penalba, and Jack Gerbert all delivered hits for Trumbull. The biggest hit in the game was Blaise DiMartino’s blast that broke the game open. Blaise finished with a double, three RBI’s, and a run scored.
As the Connecticut State Champions, Trumbull has advanced to the New England Little League Regional tournament starting August 3rd in Cranston, Rhode Island. Trumbull will open up pool play on August 4th when they face off with Braintree, Massachusetts. Trumbull will participate in a pool play format against State Champions from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.
Trumbull 10U District All-Stars claimed triumphant victories over Darien All-Stars on Tuesday, July 16th (4-1) and again on Thursday, July 18, 2024 (5-1) to capture the Sectional 1 Championship.
After losing to the Milford All-Stars on Sunday, July 14th, by a score of 7-4, the Trumbull All-Stars had to face an uphill battle to secure their Section 1 Championship. On Tuesday night, Trumbull started the game trailing Darien 1-0. However, the Trumbull 10U All-Stars showed great determination and resilience. They managed to take the lead for good in the top of the third inning after Jack Gerbert singled, scoring Chandler Penalba (who also singled) to tie the score at 1-1. After Bryce Buswell's walk, Sonny Nankervis singled, scoring Gerbert and putting Trumbull up 2-1. This display of determination and teamwork was a crucial moment in the game.

Luke Carusone pitched a scoreless inning in relief. He surrendered three hits, striking out one and walking none to earn the save.
Trumbull 10U All-Stars tallied 11 hits in the game. Bryce Buswell (double, single, and a walk) and Connor Anderson (two singles and a walk) collected two hits leading to the Trumbull offensive attack. Beckett Urda, Sonny Nankervis, Blaise DiMartino, Maddox Kopchik (double), Luke Locasto, Chandler Penalba, and Jack Gerbert all chipped in with hits.
The Trumbull 10U All-Stars headed into Thursday night's Championship as a team of young athletes with a shared passion for the game. The team got on the board in the bottom of the first inning. Beckett Urda, a key player, singled to open the game and scored on a Bryce Buswell triple. Bryce Buswell, another standout, later scored on a Sonny Nankervis sacrifice fly to give Trumbull an early 2-0 lead after one inning of play.
In the second inning, the Trumbull 10U All-Stars scored two runs to increase their lead to 4-0. Maddox Kopchik started the inning with a double, and Connor Anderson reached base on an error. After Anderson stole a base, Dustin Galemba hit a double on the sixth pitch of the at-bat, setting the stage for Trumbull.
Luke Carusone led Trumbull to victory with a complete game, pitching six innings. He allowed only four hits and one unearned run while recording six strikeouts and, crucially, not issuing a single walk.
Bryce Buswell had a triple, a single, an RBI, and scored a run, while Dustin Galemba hit a two-run double to lead the offense for Trumbull. Beckett Urda, Chase Dolyak with a double, Maddox Kopchik with a double, and Sonny Nankervis with a sacrifice fly all contributed to Trumbull's offense. Connor Anderson and Luke Locasto also scored runs.
Trumbull's defensive performance on the field was excellent, making terrific plays throughout the night. Notably, Beckett Urda delivered many plays in center field, and Maddox Kopchik and Sonny Nankervis converting a crucial double play in the final inning.
Trumbull has advanced to the four-team double-elimination State Tournament next week. The team will open on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. against Section 2 Champion Simsbury at Roche Field in Orange. Section 3 Champion Middletown will face Section 8 Champion South Windsor at 5:00 p.m.
