We all are aware that we live in unprecedented times. All the more reason we should come together on Thanksgiving to give thanks for all the blessings we enjoy, especially our families, friends, and our community.
As the holidays near I’d like to recognize those in our community that make a difference every day; our educators, our health care workers, and all our first responders, who continue to make daily sacrifices to keep us safe. I am personally thankful and grateful for these individuals.
I am also very thankful for this caring community in which we live. So many of our fellow residents volunteer daily to help those who are struggling.
We’ve have many heroes in our community, who worked quietly over the last year and half. People who checked on elderly neighbors, brought the needy food, cut their lawns and quietly assisted in so many ways.
Our Community Emergency Response Team and the Town’s Social Services Department worked tirelessly to help deliver food and other resources to the needy in our community. Our residents donated thousands of dollars to our Food Pantry.
Our restaurants and small businesses donated meals, services, and so many other things to the most vulnerable. These selfless people are truly a blessing for our community. A heartfelt thank you to them for their generosity.
As we celebrate this year with our friends and family let us reaffirm our commitment to assist those in need. Let us reaffirm our commitment to each other and our community. In so doing the spirit of Thanksgiving will live in our community each and every day.
On behalf of our Town I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and a very safe and happy holiday season.
