(07/20/21 Update) The Hillcrest pool is currently closed due to structural distress and damage in a number of areas within the underground mechanical room.
In response to these issues, the Town has retained architectural services to identify the source of these problems.
According to this initial report, the pool and mechanical room will remain closed until such time as a full and comprehensive structural analysis of the concrete walls, elevated deck, and gutters is complete.
The Town has requested a proposal from an aquatics consultant as well as from structural and electrical engineers to perform the full range of evaluations necessary to determine the scope of work for short-term stabilization of the structure and long-term repair to the pool and its related systems.
We will continue to provide the community with additional information as it becomes available.
