This is First Selectman Vicki Tesoro with an important update.
The Trumbull library system will return to pre-COVID hours on Monday, June 21st.
The main library will be open Monday through Thursday 9 am - 8 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 9 am - 5 pm.
The Fairchild-Nichols Memorial Branch will be open Monday and Wednesday 10 am - 8 pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10 am - 5 pm and Saturday 10 am - 2 pm
Sunday hours will begin in early July.
All other Town departments will also return to pre-Covid operations on June 21st. Additional information about revised Town procedures and in person Town meetings beginning in July will be available next week.

Renovations of our Pickleball Courts at Unity Park and the Tashua Tennis Courts will start soon. Beginning on Saturday, June 12th all courts at Unity Park and Courts 1-4 at Tashua will be unavailable. The court work should go quickly, ensuring lots of play time this summer!

The following announcement is from the organizers of the Trumbull High School car procession:
In celebration of the THS class of 2021, the graduates will participate in the “Eagle Final FlyThru!” on Sunday June 13th. Last year’s historic event is being offered to the 2021 Trumbull High School seniors.
We all wish our graduates the best, and will be decorating their path to honor them. People who live along the route are encouraged to cheer them on as they pass and display signs to wish them well.
All graduates are invited to meet at the Westfield Shopping Center on June 13th at 9:00 AM to caravan through Trumbull together as a class, culminating in a final sweep through the Trumbull High campus.
The graduates will leave the Westfield Shopping Center at 10 a.m. sharp, exiting onto Madison Ave. They will proceed to Lake Ave, Main Street, Whitney Ave, Daniels Farm Rd. entering through Hillcrest Middle School and finally through Trumbull High School.
The town has worked with the organizers and is supporting this event. The Trumbull Police will be escorting our Trumbull High School Seniors with the Trumbull Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services showing their support as well.
The route for this procession will be posted on the Town website.

COVID-19 Vaccination Update
INFORMATION FOR TRUMBULL RESIDENTS ELIGIBLE TO REGISTER FOR THE COVID-19 VACCINE EFFECTIVE APRIL 1, 2021 (Includes healthcare personnel, medical responders and staff, residents and staff of select congregate settings, pre-k through 12 school staff and teachers, professional childcare providers, and individuals 12 and older)
The State of CT is currently vaccinating healthcare personnel, medical responders and staff, residents and staff of select congregate settings, pre-k through 12 school staff and teachers, professional childcare providers, and, as of April 1, 2021, individuals 12 and older.
If you are 12-17 years old, you will need to schedule an appointment for the Pfizer vaccine. This is the only vaccine that has been approved for this age group at this time. Most hospital based clinics administer Pfizer. If you are in need of an appointment, contact 2-1-1 for a listing of available clinics or call 877-918-2224.

Status of Town of Trumbull Government Operations
- The Tax Collector’s Office and Town Clerk’s Office are open to the public on a walk-in basis. All other departments will continue to require an appointment. Also, Town Hall is now open on Fridays.

Key Provisions of the American Rescue Plan Act
Congress passed the American Rescue Plan Act in March. Besides relief to individuals and businesses, this relief package includes funding for states, cities, other local governments, and also emergency relief funding for schools. The Town of Trumbull and the Trumbull schools will receive emergency funding under this plan.

Mask and face covering requirements:
As of May 19, 2021, Connecticut's protocols regarding masks and face coverings were updated https://portal.ct.gov/-/media/Office-of-the-Governor/Executive-Orders/Lamont-Executive-Orders/Executive-Order-No-12.pdf to align with the recently modified CDC recommendations. The protocols that are currently in effect statewide are as follows:

Business sector rules in effect:
As of May 19, 2021, all of the business sector rules that were previously enacted to prevent the spread of COVID-19 have been lifted, except for the updated mask requirements as noted in the section above. These changes are contingent upon a low incidence of COVID-19 and the Connecticut population continuing to get vaccinated.

05/18/21: Update-May 19 Restrictions Lifted and New Back to Work Hiring Incentive
Fully vaccinated CT residents won’t be required to wear masks indoors starting May 19, 2021
Connecticut residents who are fully vaccinated will no longer be required to wear a mask indoors beginning May 19, Gov. Ned Lamont said Thursday, following new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The mask mandate will be lifted for vaccinated people the same day that other COVID-19 restrictions are being rolled back in the state. Beginning May 19, alcohol can be served without food, meaning bars can reopen; there will be no limit to the number of people who may sit at a table in a restaurant; and the business curfew will be moved back to midnight.
State offering $1,000 to the unemployed who find jobs
Connecticut's governor is offering a new initiative to get the people of Connecticut back to work in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Monday, Gov. Ned Lamont announced the "Back to Work CT Initiative," which will give people a $1,000 signing bonus when they get a new job.
This bonus will be for 10,000 individuals who have been long-term unemployed.
Once those people have been in their job for eight weeks, they will receive $1,000 from the state. To be eligible, workers must:
- Have filed an unemployment claim with the State of Connecticut for the week immediately prior to May 30, 2021.
- Obtain and maintain a full-time job for a period of eight consecutive weeks prior to Dec. 31, 2021.
- Not receive unemployment compensation during the required eight-week period of employment.
