COVID-19 Vaccine Access Update
At this time all Phase 1a, Healthcare Personnel, Long Term Care Facility Residents, Medical First Responders, and those Phase 1b individuals who are 75 years of age and older are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination.
Individuals who are 75 years of age and older can also use the Vaccine Administration Management System (VAMS) to register online for the vaccine:

Other ways to schedule a vaccination appointment in addition to VAMS:
Schedule through a provider ready for public distribution of vaccine to eligible residents. Over 100 healthcare providers across the State are offering COVID vaccines. All locations require pre-scheduling and registration – no walk-ins will be allowed.
You can also schedule an appointment for the vaccine on the phone by calling the CT COVID Vaccine Appointment Assist Line at 877-918-2224. The line will take calls on Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will offer a call-back option when all contact specialists are busy serving other callers. This phone line is also experiencing a high volume of calls.
Phase1B
Vaccine access with be phased in for the following groups in Phase 1b:
- Residents in congregate settings (approx. 50,000 people)
- Residents over 75 (approx. 277,000 people). – Currently being vaccinated
- Frontline essential workers (approx. 325,000 people).
- Residents 65 to 74 years old (approx. 353,000 people).
- Residents 16 to 64 years old who have an underlying health condition that puts them at greater risk for coronavirus complications (approx. 362,000 people).
Frontline essential workers face work-related exposure to COVID-19 because work-related duties must be performed on-site, in proximity (<6 feet) to the public or to coworkers AND are in one of the following sectors:
- Healthcare personnel not included in Phase 1a
- First responders
- Agricultural workers, including farmworkers
- Food service and restaurants
- U.S. Postal Service workers
- Manufacturing workers
- Grocery store & pharmacy workers
- Public transit workers
- Food banks and meal delivery services for the elderly
- Education and child-care workers
- Solid waste and wastewater workers
- Inspectors working on site in the above locations
- Frontline public and social services
If you fall into one of these eligibility categories due to your job, and have not yet heard from your employer, please be patient. Your employer will be coordinating your COVID-19 vaccination process and more information should be coming soon.

Those who are self-employed, independent contractors, or otherwise not affiliated with an employer group, but are eligible for Phase 1b may register with the Vaccination Administration Management System (VAMS) to schedule an appointment for their COVID-19 vaccine.

While appointments may not be available immediately, please know that the State is continuing to enroll providers and staff, and we expect that access to appointments will grow, particularly for priority populations in the coming weeks.

At that time you should expect to have access to the vaccine at the same locations where you would normally get vaccinated: pharmacies, doctors’ offices, community health clinics, local health clinics, as well as through other providers.
