Some Town residents have recently noted that Town Council and Board & Commission members have been unresponsive to their attempts to contact them via email when sending to their @trumbull-ct.gov email address listed on the Town website. The Technology Department discovered an issue with these email forwarding addresses for these volunteer officials. Emails from residents were acknowledged by the Town’s email server, but the server did not forward the message due to security protocols in place to help prevent spam. Error logs on the Town’s email server indicate that this issue has been happening for at least the past two months. This problem only affects email to Town Council and Board & Commission members, and does not affect emails sent to Town employees.
Until a long-term solution can be established, email forwarding addresses for Town Council and Board & Commission members have been removed from the Town website. Residents may contact these volunteer officials by emailing the respective Clerk, who caan forward the message. Contact information for Clerks can be found on the respective Board & Commission page under the Government menu on the Town website.
