[ARCHIVED] 05/3/2020 COVID-19 Update

Good Evening,

This is First Selectman Vicki Tesoro with an important update.

As of yesterday we had 391 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Trumbull. 64 of our Trumbull residents have passed away.

Please keep all of these families in your thoughts and prayers.

This evening I would like to provide a short update on the Town Budget process.

On April 22nd the Board of Finance voted on the town budget. The process now moves to the Town Council.

The Town Council Finance Committee will hold a Budget Public Hearing on Saturday, May 16th at 10 AM. The Town Council Finance Committee will vote on the Town Budget on Tuesday, May 19th at 7 PM and the Full Town Council will vote on Thursday, May 21st at 7:30 PM. Information about how to view and participate in all of these zoom meetings can be found on the calendar section of the town website.

The Town Council will hold its regular monthly meeting tomorrow evening, Monday, May 4th at 7:30 PM. The agenda for this meeting is posted on the Town website as are instructions on how you can join and participate in this zoom meeting. In accordance with the Town Council rules the public is invited to comment but only on items that are posted on the agenda for this meeting. The town budget is not part of this agenda. The time to make public comments on the budget is at the Budget Public Hearing zoom meeting on Saturday, May 16th at 10 AM as I said earlier in this call.

As I said before, if you or anyone you know is struggling to purchase food or can’t get to the store please contact Social Services at 203-452-5136, for this and other services and assistance.

Donations of food and monetary contributions are needed at the Food Pantry. Please visit the Food Pantry page on the Town website or call 203-452-5136 for more information on how you can donate.

Please stay safe, stay well, and stay home as much as possible.

Thanks for listening.
