By order of the Trumbull Fire Marshal’s Office, a ban on Open Burning is in effect. Open Burning requires a Burn Permit, and is explained here. This ban includes the burning of brush and small tree limbs.
This ban also applies to any standing burn permits that have previously been issued.
If you would like to obtain a permit for the future, please leave a message with the Fire Marshal’s Office at 203-452-5080. Once the ban is lifted, someone will contact you to issue a permit.
This ban does not include the use of residential fire pits. The Fire Marshal reserves the right to ban residential fire pits on a case-by-case basis if they are found to be causing a nuisance.
