[ARCHIVED] George Estrada appointed as Director of Public Works

January 9, 2020 - - First Selectman Vicki Tesoro is pleased to announce the appointment of George Estrada to the position of Director of Public Works for the Town of Trumbull.  Since 2007, Mr. Estrada has served as the Vice President of Facilities Planning and Construction for the University of Bridgeport. In this role, he led a $100 million capital and infrastructure campaign that transformed the university campus.

Prior to his employment with the University of Bridgeport, Mr. Estrada served as the Director of Public Facilities for the City of Bridgeport where he successfully streamlined department operations, improved customer service, and engaged residents for neighborhood revitalization efforts. With his extensive public and private sector experience, Mr. Estrada has maintained a lifelong career that delivers results-oriented successful campaigns to promote economic development, improve public safety, and preserve environmental resources.

Mr. Estrada states, “I’m very excited to join First Selectman Tesoro’s team. Trumbull is a community I have always admired and where so many of my friends have settled. I will do everything possible to support the wonderful quality of life experienced today and strive to improve delivery of services however possible. “

First Selectman Vicki Tesoro states, “Upon receiving word from John Marsilio that he planned to retire, I began the search process for a new Public Works Director for our community. The role of the Director of Public Works is critical in providing for the safety of our residents and the well-being of our community.  I’m thrilled George has accepted my offer because I know we will be well served by his vast experience. I want to thank Mr. Marsilio for his years of service to Trumbull and on behalf of the town I wish him health and happiness in his retirement. ”

Mr. Estrada will start on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. There will be a brief overlap between Mr. Marsilio and Mr. Estrada to ensure a complete transition of duties.
