[ARCHIVED] Trumbull Recognized as One of the Best Connecticut Towns for Young Families

Trumbull, CT. November 15, 2013 – First Selectman Timothy M. Herbst acknowledged today a consumer advice website that has ranked Trumbull as one of “The Best Towns for Young Families” in Connecticut.

NerdWallet (NerdWallet.com), in a November 11th on-line article, listed Trumbull as the 2nd best town for young families in the State. Other Connecticut communities ranked in the article’s top 5 included Orange, Newington, West Hartford, and Wethersfield.

“This recognition is just the latest piece of national acclaim for Trumbull, similar to the recognition we have received in recent years from CNN Money Magazine, Relocate America, Coldwell Banker and Family Circle Magazine,”’ said Herbst. “This continual positive feedback is a clear indication that we are doing the right things to enhance our quality of life and prepare for an even better future.”

NerdWallet’s ranking was based on the academic performance of local schools, the relative affordability and value of towns for their residents, and the vitality of the local economy.

According to Wikipedia, NerdWallet.com is a personal finance and credit card comparison website launched in March 2010. The site writes recommendations on credit cards, personal finance options, discounts, and gas prices. It also reports on credit card industry news and politics while providing financial advice and travel tips.

The site's features include tools for comparing credit cards, online stores, gas prices, interest rates, and credit unions. CNN Money listed NerdWallet in the Top 20 Best Money Sites in 2010. The New York Times Bucks blog recommended NerdWallet to readers in August 2010.
