Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, May 19th all remaining business restrictions in Connecticut will end. Based on the new CDC guidance, the Governor has stated that individuals that are fully vaccinated will not be required to wear masks indoors, unless required by the specific business or organization. Outdoor masks will only be recommended for certain large events. Guidance on these events will be issued by the Connecticut Department of Public Health.

Throughout the pandemic the Town has delivered services to our residents and businesses. Town Hall reopened to the public in July 2020 using a hybrid schedule for our employees. Since that time we modified operations when necessary to keep the public and Town employees healthy and safe. It is anticipated that Town Hall operations will return to a pre COVID model by June 21st. Some departments, however, will continue on a hybrid schedule based on available space, the vaccination rate of our employees, and any changes to state guidance. This has not and will not diminish our ability to deliver services to our community.
During this phase-in period, in order to continue to protect the public and our town employees we will require face coverings for members of the public entering all our town buildings.

The Trumbull Health Department is holding a Pfizer Vaccine Clinic by appointment only for 12-15 year old Trumbull residents, tomorrow, Wednesday, May 19th, at Trumbull High School from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM.

Playground and Junior camp are being offered in two week sessions beginning June 21st. Playground camp is for ages 6-12 and will be held at Tashua and Daniels Farm schools. Junior camp for ages 4- 6 and will be held at Frenchtown.
TYA and TYA Junior will both be having performances this summer. The shows will be Mamma Mia for TYA and Mary Poppins for TYA Junior. Please visit TrumbullYouth.ORG for more information.
Summer swim lessons for ages 2 to 12 at Tashua Pool are open for registration.
There are also youth tennis lessons, adult pickleball, and Future Stars sports clinics available for registration at recreation.trumbull-ct.gov.
Beach pool will open on May 29th and Tashua pool will open on June 19th. Reservations will be required for all individuals to enter the pools per Connecticut Department of Public Health guidance. While reservations are required, capacity limits at both pools are more than double than last year. There should very little difficulty securing a space. Reservations will be in 2 hour time blocks with 30 minutes in between. Reservations are available 24 hours prior to the reservation time and can be made through your recreation online account or by calling the recreation office at 203-452-5060.
The Trumbull Arts Department is currently hosting Sunday concerts on the Town Hall Green and Tuesday night summer concert series will resume on June 29th.
There will be 10 movies in the park this season beginning on June 24th at dusk.

The Trumbull Library is restoring public computer access to the Tech Center at the Main Branch starting Wednesday, May 19. Adult and teen patrons may reserve 30-minute computer sessions, up to twice in one day. Public computers will be socially distanced and include hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes at each station. Printing will also be enabled.
Also on Wednesday, the library is beginning a new credit/debit card payment system through their online catalog so patrons can settle their accounts over the Internet. The Fairchild-Nichols Memorial Branch is open Monday through Thursday from 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM. The main branch of the Trumbull Library is open Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 1 PM – 5 PM.
The Director of the Trumbull Senior Center is working on reopening plans. Preliminary plans are to begin offering classes in June. More information will be available soon.
Just a reminder this year’s Memorial Day Parade is at 10 AM on Monday, May 31st on Main Street.

COVID-19 Vaccination Update
INFORMATION FOR TRUMBULL RESIDENTS ELIGIBLE TO REGISTER FOR THE COVID-19 VACCINE EFFECTIVE APRIL 1, 2021 (Includes healthcare personnel, medical responders and staff, residents and staff of select congregate settings, pre-k through 12 school staff and teachers, professional childcare providers, and individuals 12 and older)
The State of CT is currently vaccinating healthcare personnel, medical responders and staff, residents and staff of select congregate settings, pre-k through 12 school staff and teachers, professional childcare providers, and, as of April 1, 2021, individuals 12 and older.
If you are 12-17 years old, you will need to schedule an appointment for the Pfizer vaccine. This is the only vaccine that has been approved for this age group at this time. Most hospital based clinics administer Pfizer. If you are in need of an appointment, contact 2-1-1 for a listing of available clinics or call 877-918-2224.

Status of Town of Trumbull Government Operations
- The Tax Collector’s Office and Town Clerk’s Office are open to the public on a walk-in basis. All other departments will continue to require an appointment. Also, Town Hall is now open on Fridays.

Key Provisions of the American Rescue Plan Act
Congress passed the American Rescue Plan Act in March. Besides relief to individuals and businesses, this relief package includes funding for states, cities, other local governments, and also emergency relief funding for schools. The Town of Trumbull and the Trumbull schools will receive emergency funding under this plan.

05/18/21: Update-May 19 Restrictions Lifted and New Back to Work Hiring Incentive
Fully vaccinated CT residents won’t be required to wear masks indoors starting May 19, 2021
Connecticut residents who are fully vaccinated will no longer be required to wear a mask indoors beginning May 19, Gov. Ned Lamont said Thursday, following new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The mask mandate will be lifted for vaccinated people the same day that other COVID-19 restrictions are being rolled back in the state. Beginning May 19, alcohol can be served without food, meaning bars can reopen; there will be no limit to the number of people who may sit at a table in a restaurant; and the business curfew will be moved back to midnight.
State offering $1,000 to the unemployed who find jobs
Connecticut's governor is offering a new initiative to get the people of Connecticut back to work in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Monday, Gov. Ned Lamont announced the "Back to Work CT Initiative," which will give people a $1,000 signing bonus when they get a new job.
This bonus will be for 10,000 individuals who have been long-term unemployed.
Once those people have been in their job for eight weeks, they will receive $1,000 from the state. To be eligible, workers must:
- Have filed an unemployment claim with the State of Connecticut for the week immediately prior to May 30, 2021.
- Obtain and maintain a full-time job for a period of eight consecutive weeks prior to Dec. 31, 2021.
- Not receive unemployment compensation during the required eight-week period of employment.
Connecticut Drinks On Us:
Governor Lamont and the Connecticut Restaurant Association announced the #CTDrinksOnUs campaign, which encourages and incentivizes residents to get vaccinated. To take part in the promotion, customers simply show that they have received one or both doses of a COVID vaccine, at which point they can select from a list of pre-set drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) established by each participating restaurant.
The campaign, which runs from May 19–31, limits drinks to one per person and the purchase of food is required.
