COVID-19 (JPG)

Good Evening,

This is First Selectman Vicki Tesoro with an important update.

Beginning tomorrow April 1st all individuals in Connecticut 16 years of age and older are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Please visit the town website for information about registering for the vaccine. There are multiple ways to schedule an appointment.

https://www.trumbull-ct.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=1553

Currently, the only vaccine approved for children 16 and over is Pfizer.  Moderna and Johnson & Johnson are only approved for individuals 18 and over.  The Trumbull Health Department is only administering Moderna and Johnson & Johnson that changes weekly depending on the availability of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. To determine which clinics offer the Pfizer vaccine, you can call the provider offering the clinic directly or contact the state at 211 or 877-918-2224 for more information.

The following data represents the total number of COVID-19 vaccinations administered in Connecticut, as reported to the state as of Monday, March 29, 2021

Dose Total Administered
 First dose administered 1,189,197*
 Fully vaccinated 684,200*
 Total doses administered 1,828,260*

*NOTE: A total of 45,137 doses of the single-dose J&J vaccine are included in each category

This week, the state anticipates receiving about 240,000 first doses from the federal government.

So far, 41% of all adults over the age of 16 in Connecticut have received at least one dose, including:

  • 80% of people over the age of 65
  • 61% of people between the ages of 55-64
  • 38% of people between the ages of 45-54

In Trumbull, 35% of our residents have received their first dose of the vaccine.

On a separate subject, the Trumbull Public School district is looking for feedback on their strategic planning from the entire Trumbull community including those who do not have children in the school system. Please visit the town website for information on how you can participate in this initiative.

As we continue to see cases rise in Connecticut we must continue to remain vigilant in dealing with this virus whether you are vaccinated or not by continuing to practice social distancing and following the Governor's executive orders that require all residents to wear a mask or a cloth face covering when in public, whether indoors or outdoors, and social distancing is not possible.

Stay well and stay safe.

Key Provisions of the American Rescue Plan Act

Congress passed the American Rescue Plan Act in March. Besides relief to individuals and businesses, this relief package includes funding for states, cities, other local governments, and also emergency relief funding for schools. The Town of Trumbull and the Trumbull schools will receive emergency funding under this plan. The exact amount of these allocations is not yet known and there still remains questions as to how the Treasury Department will allow these funds to be used. Once we know the information we will share it with you. https://himes.house.gov/coronavirus

Phase 2.1

The following rules apply to all Connecticut businesses and organizations and are effective March 19, 2021. Businesses should take these rules as the minimum baseline of precautions needed to protect public health in Connecticut and refer to the recommended guidance by sector listed at the bottom of this page for best practices. Individual establishments should also take additional measures as recommended by industry experts or by common sense applied to their particular situation.
