Tax Day for individuals is Tuesday, April 18, 2023 for both Federal and State taxes.
The Library has placed orders for the Federal 1040 tax forms and instructions, but they have not arrived yet. Based on our experience in previous years, we should receive the forms some time in late January or early February.
The Connecticut Department of Revenue Services no longer sends tax booklets and instructions to libraries or any other bulk distribution sites. Tax forms for the state can be accessed online, see the DRS contact information below.
AARP Tax Assistance
The AARP provides free tax assistance at the Trumbull Library. APPOINTMENTS REQUIRED - Available to schedule starting January 15. Call 203-452-5197
Dates: Each Wednesday, from February 1 until April 12, and each Friday, from February 3 until April 14 (except April 7).
Hours: 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
NOTE: No tax assistance if the Trumbull Schools are closed due to weather.
WHAT TO BRING:
Photo Id or other type of Identification
Social Security Card and Statement (SSA 1099)
A copy of your 2021 tax return and/or prior year AARP Envelope
All tax forms received for tax year 2022 (W-2, 1095, 1099)
End of year investment statements (INT, DIV, Stocks, Bonds)
List of Itemized Deductions (Medical, Donations, Taxes)
Any other tax documents you might have
IRS PIN if issued, Cancelled Check for Direct Deposit
Patrons without access to a computer or printer can request forms by calling the DRS at 860-297-5962. Paper forms are only being sent to those without access to a printer or a computer. Only one copy of each form will be sent by mail.
