Summer Reading Program
June 20 - August 15
This summer, the Trumbull Library wants you to Imagine Your Story by exploring new books, topics, and activities you might not have considered before! There are 40 reading challenges: read five different books in eight different categories outlined in our program. Teens may read any book they like that fits in the genre of the challenge, so long as it is a teen or adult book. This is to encourage teens to read books that might otherwise be outside their comfort zone! Each book read equals 1 raffle ticket. In addition there are 10 activity based challenges, where each completed activity equals 2 raffle tickets. Attending teen programs also equals 2 raffle tickets.
The tickets you earn through reading challenges, activity challenges, and attending our virtual teen programs will be entered into the prize basket raffle of your choice. Anything above the 60 tickets you can earn from the reading challenges and activities will go towards our grand prize drawing - you may earn additional tickets by reading beyond what is outlined in our program only once you finish the activity and reading challenges. Tickets earned by attending programs can only be entered into the basket drawings.
The prize baskets and grand prize winner will be drawn at the end of the summer.
Additionally, we will also have a weekly participation raffle. Check back to this page each Saturday for a link to a Google survey to log your participation. You may only enter this raffle once per week.
The teen program is for patrons ages 12 - 17. 12 year olds will have the option to pick either the teen program or the children’s independent reader program; this is the only age capable of choosing a preferred program. Registration and recording finished challenges will be completed online this year. Registration will open on June 20th and you will have until August 15th to complete challenges. Register here.
